Sophie Early Release Candidate 7

  • New features

    • New and improved graphic look.
    • Zooming books, allows you to view books at difference sizes
    • Timelines can now be looped.
    • Support for anchoring frames in flows.
    • Templates now handle auto-created flow frames.
    • Search & replace palette.
    • "Next style" feature in paragraph HUD.

    Note:

    • Sophie hasn't been optimized for performance yet so you if your project has more than fifty pages or if you have multiple books open at once, Sophie may be quite slow.

    Mac-specific fixes

    • Now OS X 10.5 (Leopard) compatible.
    • Files from the Finder can be copied and pasted into Sophie.
    • Folders can be dropped on the resource tab.
    • Sophie books now have previews in Coverflow & QuickLook.
    • Larger books (more than 2 Gb) are now allowed.
    • Maximize button works.

    Windows-specific fixes

    • Read Me file added to book structure.
    • Double-clicking will open books.
    • Unicode characters can be entered in books.

    Important Privacy Notice for Sophie Users

    The Sophie software application sends notification of errors to a member of the Sophie technical team. Those error notifications include stack traces which, depending on the error, may include information from your machine, including part of the content of the book you were working in, a path to a book, a path to a resource, or the path to your Sophie application. We use this information for debugging purposes only - nothing else.
